Class: Varies, mostly class III - IV unless we get adequate Novice boaters

Trip Leader: TBD

Prerequisites: Cold weather gear, this is early Spring

Costs: TBD, there is a fee for camping or lodging at Camp Ceasar but it is very reasonable

Summary: This is the first festival of the year and right in the heart of the Upper Gauley Tributaries.  This is creeking heaven.  We often have plenty of water for trips on the "Fruit Bowl: Cherry, Cranberry, Williams, etc.).  The Meadow River sections are typically running.  Even the various sections of the Elk river system are usually in play.

I would like to paddle but not stay at the Camp. Is anyone putting a club trip together?

Hey - Do we think anything will be running out there this year Charlie?

Looking pretty dry out there now.

I came to the same conclusion and plan to stay local or paddle the Lower Yough (or perhaps the Top Yough).

The Meadow sections will probably hold.  The New River Gorge will certainly hold.  Most of the good stuff appears to be further North in West Virginia.  This is the first year I have seen where Webster Springs was relatively dry this time of year - weird.   Roll Eyes

Thanks. Its a tough pill to swallow, esp since I havent been out much and was looking forward to Webster Springs. Definately kinda dry out there though. I'm gonna think on it.

Don't forget the upper gauley, it's currently running at about 230, which as a number of us found out last year is a great level.  You just have to be on your toes for sieves.

That being said, I'm probably skipping the drive this year as well.  Charlie, the top yough sounds like a great idea, or maybe the shenandoah if it comes up a foot or so.
